KARACHI - (inp): Two armed men tried to enter the residence of Pakistan's renowned human rights activist Ansar Burney Advocate in North Nazimabad Sunday afternoon, a day after he returned from a trip to the Middle Eastern countries.
The gunmen tried to enter Mr. Burney's family residence, but were chased away by his personal security guards. Reports were lodged at the emergency police at Liaqatabad Police Center with report no: 14 and at North Nazimabad Police Station with report no 08 dated Sunday, 12th February.
Ms. Mehnaz Anwar, Advocate - spokesperson Ansar Burney Trust - condemned the cowardly harassment and vowed that the Trust would continue doing its work for human rights despite the threats and attacks; which she stated had increased recently.
She requested the government to Pakistan to provide better security to Ansar Burney his family and workers of the ABT.
