KARACHI: A group of 716 Pakistanis, who were arrested in Oman for illegal entry, have finally arrived in the country, a relief group said.

They left Muscat on Sunday and travelled for about four days, many of them suffering from diarrhoea, the Ansar Burney Welfare Trust said. They returned with no personal belongings or documents with them, except the emergency travelling documents issued by the Pakistani mission in Muscat.

The Immigration and Passport Circle staff was deployed at the immigration check post at Karachi port where the Ansar Burney Trust gave deportees food and water. Sources say thousands of people are still on the Pakistan-Iran border and will try to get to Muscat. From there they will travel to Dubai by road, in search of a better life.
