Chinese Govt invites Ansar Burney

ISLAMABAD, June 27 (PPI)The Chairman of the Ansar Burney Trust and Member United Nations Human Rights Council Advisory Committee at Geneva, Ansar Burney has been invited on an official tour to China by the Chinese Government; and will leave for Beijing on Sunday, June 29th.

The Former Federal Minister for Human Rights Ansar Burney along with his delegation have been invited to visit the country and inspect the human rights situation there, particularly in the Chinese justice system and jails. He is also expected to lobby for the release of South Asian, especially Pakistani prisoners during his trip.

Burney will be seen off from Islamabad by the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan and during his six days visit, he will meet the Chief Justice and Judges of the Supreme Court of China, officials of the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs, visit various courts to see the judiciary system in process, visit prisons, hospitals, meet leaders of minorities, along with other appointments.

Ansar Burney also plans to meet Pakistani prisoners in Chinese jails and work towards their release and repatriation. He is also expected to inform the Chinese government of the problems being faced by Pakistanis in China.
