ISLAMABAD, June 29 (PPI)The Chairman Ansar Burney Trust and Member United Nations Human Rights Council Advisory Committee at Geneva, Ansar Burney Sunday left for Beijing on an invitation by the Chinese Government.
The Former Federal Minister for Human Rights Ansar Burney along with his wife Mrs. Shaheen Burney and Syed Fahad Burney, Vice Chairman of Ansar Burney Trust have been invited to visit China and see the human rights situation there, particularly in the Chinese justice system and jails. During his stay in China he will also lobby for the release of South Asian, especially Indian and Pakistani prisoners confined in Chinese jails. He was seen off from Islamabad by the Chinese Embassy officials and during his six days visit, he will meet the Chief Justice and Judges of the Supreme Court of China, officials of the Ministries of Interior, Justice and Foreign Affairs, will visit various courts to see the judiciary system in process, visit prisons, hospitals, meet leaders of minorities, along with other appointments. He also plans to meet Indian and Pakistani prisoners in Chinese jails and work towards their release and repatriation. He is also expected to inform the Chinese government of the problems being faced by Pakistanis and Indians in China.
