Karachi, May 26 (PPI) : The International Association of Lions club has presented a Lions Lifetime achievement Award to Mr. Ansar Burney, Chairman; Ansar Burney Trust International and Pakistans former Federal Minister for Human Rights, in recognition to his international selfless human rights services. The Award giving ceremony was recently held in a hotel here in a colourful evening. Multiple Council Chairman of the Lions club, Mohammad Irfan Shaikh said that the Lions Club International is a world largest social service organisation that recognised services of human rights legend Ansar Burney in the field of human rights. We therefore decide to honour Mr. Ansar Burney, newly unopposed elected Member United Nations Human Rights Council at Geneva, with the prestigious Lions recognition Lifetime Achievement Award in the field of Human Rights, at annual multiple district convention. Irfan Shaikh added.
He said it is an honour for Pakistan that in 2005 the State Department of the United States of America has declared Ansar Burney as International HERO in the field of human rights (Anti human-trafficking) and now he has been elected unopposed in the United Nations. The award was received by Syed Sarim Burney, Vice Chairman of the Ansar Burney Trust on behalf of Mr. Ansar Burney.
