NEW DELHI, June 1 (APP): Shahi Imam of Jamia Masjid Syed Ahmad Bukhari said here on Sunday that schedule of Human Rights Activist Ansar Burney to participate in the anti-terrorism conference was conveyed to the Indian ministries of External Affairs and Home Affairs six months back.
Talking to reporters, he said the process for holding the conference had started six months earlier and at that time the government was informed about his visit which had also given the clearance.
He said the list of delegates was sent to both ministries and the government had also sent its letters for visa clearance.
But deporting Ansar Burney at the last minute was very unfortunate, he said and added the government’s action would demoralise him in doing such work in future.
