
DUBAI, Aug. 26, 2004: A seven years old child camel jockey was raped, while another fell off a camel and is admitted in hospital in critical condition.
The Chairman of the human rights group Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International - Ansar Burney, Advocate who is on a visit to UAE to rescue such children stated on Thursday.
Ansar Burney visited Abu Dhab, Al-Aini and Ajman and met the unfortunate children. He discovered a five year old boy - Shakeel - who fell off a camel during a race during which a camel ran over him. He is in critical condition in Ajman.
Ansar Burney also discovered a seven year old boy named Nadeem, who was raped on 24th of August 04 in a camel farm in Banyas (Al-Ain) and is also in very bad condition.
"Mother of Shakeel (7), Ms Firdous and father Rashid took their child to a police station to lodge the report but the police refused. Shakeel was then taken to hospital where her was refused medical treatment when the hospital authorities discovered that he belonged to a camel camp ". Ansar Burney added.
He said that last week, "another boy fell off a camel in Abu Dhabi and lost his life"
He urged the authorities to stop such inhuman practice in the greater interest of humanity and human rights.
