KARACHI (PPI) — Seven more underage camel jockey children, three of them real brothers, who were rescued and returned Pakistan a few days back from two of the Middle East countries, by the hectic efforts of advocate Ansar Burney, were handed over here on Wednesday to their parents by the Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International.
The Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International searched the parents of innocent camel jockey children in Punjab and Interior of Sindh.
The seven children Ghullam 4, Mureed 5, Usman 4, Salman 6, Murtaza 5, Shahid 7 and Jamal 8 stayed in the UAE and Qatar for more than two to four years where they were made to work as underage ‘Camel Jockeys’.
Talking to newsmen at the Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International office, Salman whose left leg and right arm twice broken by falling from camel said, “I had spent miserable time like hell and been riding the camels for the last three years and fell down several times and twice sustained serious injury”.
Shahid said, “Our employer used me and other children for sex as well”.
“We were to eat two biscuits a day or just half of bread in 24 hours. Some time we were given salty sea water to drink so that we could not gain weight,” Mureed told.
“We were not allowed to sleep properly and to eat good food. We were living in an iron tents even in a high temperature of above 52 degree. Some times we bleeded from mouth and nose and some times from stomachs but no one to hear our hue and cry”, Jamal said with tears in his eyes.
“We were to get up early at 3.00 am and after 17 to 18 hours work were allowed to go to sleep,” he added.
“Ghullam said, “We had spent two years like hell as camel jockeys in worst kind of circumstances and are unable to tell any one”.
Shahida wife of Kareem, the mother of three camel jockeys, who received her three children at the Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International office, said that her three children were kidnapped while they were working out side their home in Dera Ghazi Khan two years back.
