Bureau of Missing and Kidnapped Children

The Ansar Burney Trust's Bureau of Missing and Kidnapped Children was established in 1980 along with the Prisoners Aid Society. Its mission, was to locate missing and kidnapped children and return them to their families.

It also worked to locate the families of those children found in the streets, those released from labor camps and those who had run away from home.

The children were provided medical attention (if needed) and safe accommodation while their parents/families were being searched for and located. This was done by checking reports of missing children at police stations across the country, volunteers visiting cities/towns/villages the children remember and asking the local people; and by advertisements in the newspapers, radio and on TV.

The Bureau of Missing and Kidnapped Children is now a part of the overall Ansar Burney Trust.
